My only criticism is that the submission could've went a bit slower, just to really let the drama impact the audience. But yeah, I love what you have here. Wasn't even in a linear perspective, but with two scenarios playing back to back. And you could tell quick what happened despite the animation going too fast. Keep up the good work!

ChicPigeon responds:

thank you <3, yeah most people have been telling me it goes by too fast so I'm working on a slower version rn. Thanks for the critique :)

The backgrounds and the color schemes were giving me Dragonball vibes, also with the worm god looking like Shenron. And the main guy was giving me Phineas & Ferb vibes. Never thought the looks of both franchises would collide lol. But yeah, that was kind of funny. Keep up the good work! :)

egglebreg responds:

thanks!

This is honestly bland at best, just like how most gmod submissions are. It's unfortunate because I've seen plenty of good gmod stuff in the past, and they actually got some great animation going on. This just felt like a slideshow of pictures and nothing more. I probably wouldn't be so harsh if literally anything happened in this submission. But nope, nothing happened at all. I get you want to make these shorter, but they need to have some sort of plot thread to them. Just have something to engage the audience with. Don't think I'm hating on you, it's just some constructive criticism. If I didn't tell you this, somebody will. All I can say now is improve and good luck!

TheFantasticAero responds:

Making animations in GMod is hard, and I do have a good plot for this series, it's just hard to achieve it because of limitations.

What was the original song? (Decent animation btw lol)

Carsaurus responds:

The original song was "freaking Out the Neighborhood" by Mac DeMarco, and personally I think it better suits the animation but whatever. If you wanna see the original video its up on my YT channel

For a basic idea, it was pretty hilarious lol. Love the animation and art in this! Ever heard of Lazy Square? Because your style reminds me a lot of theirs. They can be found on YouTube if you're interested. ;)

hobotoon responds:

dude, thank you, that's great to hear! I'm a big fan of his, and this one partly was inspired by his work. I even asked him for advice once, and he said not to stop :)

This legitimately feels like something off TV. Some of the most fluent animation I've seen on here in a while. Also the voice actors need to be in more projects because everybody sounded believable in this. The art and backgrounds feel like something out of the wind waker game. I really can't get enough of this. Keep up the amazing work! :)

Crospic responds:

Thanks. :)

Years later and you still got it. Everything about this was pretty hilarious. And don't worry about being gone for too long. I know how it is to return to animation years later and wondering if I got rusty. I wish you the best of luck this year! :)

CalebJordan360 responds:

Thank you my friend, yeah i'm a bit self conscious about some bits but overall im pretty proud of it, given how long its been.

The one problem I had with this is that the voice acting was pretty quiet half the time, and putting that together with very loud sound effects is not good. If you don't have Audacity, I recommend getting it. It can help amplify the voices and make them on par with every other piece of audio. With this aside, everything else was pretty great. The animation was the best part, and I love how you blur rapid movements to make the magnitude feel powerful. The background art was nothing special, but the character designs were great! Hope the 2nd piece is good because this was a blast. Keep up the good work! :)

Zamb1e responds:

Thank you for pointing out what needs work and I'm glad you enjoyed it.

The animation itself is pretty great! The movements are legit, and you got some great art talent in general. I'd give this a higher score if it wasn't for that 8 minute commentary on that 1 minute animation. This would work more on YouTube than on Newgrounds. If you do make something like this again, I recommend only submitting the animation part and putting the commentary on YouTube with a link to it in the description below the animation. But yeah, keep up the great work!

Bobert-Rob responds:

Well, it's an HD re-release of an old animation of mine, so the extra content is there for older fans of mine. I never expect everyone to watch the entire thing, they can tune out whenever they want. Thank you for watching though! I appreciate you taking the time.

Pretty much just an animator for fun! Hope you enjoy my content!
